Khailey Kwamilele, 7, recently competed at the Amateur Athletic Union West Coast Junior Olympics in Reno.
She ran in the 100-meter, 200-meter and the 400-meter events, placing in the top eight in all three races and winning the bronze medal in the 100-meter.Although this is only Khailey’s first year running track, she has proven she is a track star in the making.
I believe Khailey has done an exceptional job in her first year. She likes to do her best and does not like to lose,” said coach Willie White, head coach of the East Oakland Track Group.
“I am going to push her to get even better than she already is. With the support of her mother, Khailey has the potential to go extremely far,” he said.
