Hundreds of Warriors fans were treated to a free block party and pep rally hosted by former NBA player A.C. Green last Sunday at 13th and Broadway in downtown Oakland.

Fans met Warriors players and cheerleaders and watched performances by the acrobatic dunk team, the Flying Dubs.

“It’s great to see the fans come out and support,” said Jesus Ibn El of the Flying Dubs. “You can tell there’s a lot of love for the team, and we’re looking forward to them having a successful season.”

An outdoor basketball court was set up in front of the Oakland Tribune building along with a main stage with performances by rap group Zion I Crew, A-1, and DJ J Boogie.

Food, drinks, and free commemorative Warriors T-shirts from Oaklandish were passed out to those in attendance, and children played in a special kids’ zone.

The Warriors began their season Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.
