District 6 Councilmember Desley Brooks has announced a free amnesty bulk-dumping project to take place across East Oakland Saturday, April 12 – Wednesday, April 16.

According to Brooks, the project is designed to help residents and give illegal dumpers a legal place to drop their items. “We heard from people all over the city wanting to see the bins in their neighborhoods,” she said.

She said Ken Houston and the East Oakland Beautification Council has partnered with her on the project.

The six dumping sites are:

International and 56th Avenue; 66th Ave & Fenham, 5800 block of Foothill Boulevard, Eastmont Area on 73rd Avenue / MacArthur Boulevard, Parkridge Drive / cross Street Skyline and Mountain Boulevard between Kuhnle and Mountain View.

With the support of Councilmembers Larry Reid, Libby Schaff, Pat Kernighan, and Dan Kalb, four new East Oakland dumpsites were added:

8055 Collins Drive, 800 77th Avenue, 750 Louisiana Street and 10500 San Leandro Street.

“I am excited about this project and look forward to celebrating our collective success,” said Brooks.
