Smiles and laughter filled the Westside Club at the Oakland Coliseum at the Christmas party sponsored by Council Member Desley Brooks and Sports Agent Aaron Goodwin.

The party, hosted annually by Brooks and Goodwin, transformed the club into a beautiful Winter Wonderland, designed by Peggy Holland and Cheryl Thompson.

Oakland youth were treated to an assortment of food stations, toys, $50 gift cards, haircuts, manicures, face painting, gingerbread houses, photo booth pix, arcade games, cookie decorating, arts and activities.

One young woman, Bethania Tadesse, 14, used her own money and also raised some additional funds to purchase gifts for all of the kids who attended the party.

“Thank you Bethania for your giving heart,” said Councilmember Brooks.

In addition KBLX and Nikki Thomas sponsor an annual toy drive and donated toys to the children at the party.
