Celebrate African Liberation Day in Oakland, May 27

The All-African People’s Revolutionary party is hosting African Liberation Day 2017, 11 a.m. 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27 at Tassafaronga Center 975-85th Ave. in Oakland.

The keynote speaker is Elaine Brown, former Black Panther Party chairperson. Invited speakers include representatives of the American Indian Movement (AIM-West), Arab Resource and Organizing Center, Haiti Action Committee and Nation of Islam.

Entertainment will feature Griot Phavia Kujichagulia with Val Serrant, Candice Antique, CRC Self Defense Demo and Scrapper Bikers.

The event is sponsored by the Akonadi Foundation and City of Oakland Parks and Recreation.
