A Juneteenth Festival will be celebrated in Marin City Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., outside of the Health and Wellness Center at 630 Drake Ave. in Marin City.
The festival will commemorate the freedom of the African Americans, who with their indomitable spirit and beauty has contributed greatly to the American society and culture.
Local talents in the community will be showcased with spoken word, jazz, blues and community gospel choirs. Conscious rap will be woven together by International DJ “Ken-Dread.”
Fresh Ethiopian coffee, BBQ chicken & ribs, fish dinners and homemade baked desserts will be on sale. Belizean cuisine will be featured at the festival.
Relax in the Health & Wellness garden and enjoy the fresh fruits, vegetarian treats, and detox drinks. Free smoothies will be served. Fresh food bags will be given away.
Natural beauty products, such as Shea butter, will be on sale, along with African imports, art, and baskets.
A drumming circle and a children’s play area with a jumping tent will be available. Enter the raffle to win special prizes.
