West County LEGO Robotics is providing summer camp for youth at four Richmond recreation centers – Shields, Nevin, Parchester and Brooker Anderson – funded by the Ed Fund, Richmond Recreation Department and the West Contra Costa Unified School District.
Camdp Achieve, the summer Loss Learning program for low-income and second language children, is designed for local children to remain academically competitive while having summer fun.
The program rotates daily among the four centers. Each camp has about 50-60 campers. All campers, working in teams of two, learn to build robots, program and test their coding skills.
The campers are students in grades first through sixth.
