Minister Georgia Taylor Is Turning 100 Years Old

Minister Georgia Taylor, an Oakland resident, was born Sept. 13, 1917 in Tulsa Oklahoma to parents Monroe and Pearlie Younger. She is one of nine siblings. She married Luther McNair in 1932, and the couple had six children.

During World War II, she worked for the government making rivets for airplanes.  She also worked as a maid and cook.

Georgia Taylor serves as a minister and a member of Prayer Mission Pentecostal Church in Oakland.  She has helped her family, members of the church and the community in many ways, including teaching, preaching and counseling.

She says, “God has been extra good to me.”

She still enjoys gardening and cooking.  Her oldest daughter Serena is 84 years old and lives in Sacramento. Georgia Taylor has six children, 24 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great grandchildren.
