Sistas on the Links Golf Club Celebrates 9th Year Anniversary with Golf Tournament Win

Sistas on the Links (SOTL) Golf Club showed up and showed out at the Western States Golf Association (WSGA) 63rd Annual Championship in San Diego, June 22-25.
The team brought home six individual trophies and won the overall team challenge for the event.  For the second time in the 63-year history of the WSG history, an all-female team has won this challenge.
Team members, Debra Batiste, Audrey Goins Brichi, Eunice Coffey, Vanessa Donaville and Lesley Stewart recent celebrated their win during the 9th Anniversary meeting of the Club.
“It means so much to our club to have achieved this wonderful milestone” said Janet Johnson, founder and President of SOTL.  “We are a young organization and are grateful to our membership for the camaraderie and support we share”.
Sistas on the Links’ mission is to unite and expose African American Women to golf.
The group provides opportunities to play in an environment of encouragement and acceptance while strengthening members’ golf skills.  They also introduce golf to young women and nurture their academic growth through their Little Sistas Program.
SOTL provides financial to support to the Little Sistas to enhance opportunities to play golf, compete in golf tournaments and gain exposure for college scholarships.
To date SOTL have been instrumental in assisting two Little Sistas with full golf college scholarships. SOTL is a 501c3 organization and accepts donations to support the Little Sistas Program.
