The Xi Gamma Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and its non-profit arm, the Twenty Pearls Foundation, will hold a free community health and wellness fair Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m.—2 p.m. at Lafayette Elementary School at 991 14th St. in Oakland.

The wellness fair will offer health screenings, health and literacy workshops, a fun kid zone, lunch and door prizes for participants. Health-focused companies and organizations will participate including: American Red Cross; Alameda County Public Health Office of Dental Health; American Heart Association; AIDS Project East Bay; Black Nurses Association; Family Education & Resource Center – Mental Health Association of Alameda County, Sexual Assault and Recover, Women’s Cancer Resource Center, and many more.

Both Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Phi Lambda Chapter and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Berkeley Alumni Chapter have partnered with Xi Gamma Omega Chapter to deliver the health fair.

“I’m so pleased with the number of repeat health vendors who’ve signed up to participate again, citing how valuable they found this outreach to be for the communities that they serve,” Amanda Adkins, Community Health Fair Chair, shared. “With each passing year, we hope to build on the momentum that our community of providers has created by working together across multiple neighborhoods and disciplines.”
