New Orleans Meets the Bay on May 26th

On Saturday, May 26th, Mardi Gras will come to the Bay! Hosted by the Bayou Meets the Bay Foundation, the first annual Mardi Gras in May  Scholarship Dance celebration will provide attendees with a taste of Louisiana cuisine and New Orleans flare  with a live band performance while raising money for deserving students.

Founded by Godfrey White, a Louisiana native, has resided in Oakland since 1973. With the Bayou Meets the Bay Foundation, White is creating life changing programs for children, teen, and seniors in Oakland.

“Let’s work together to bring real change to our community,” said White. “This scholarship dance is just a kick off to what our Foundation is preparing to do within the next year.”

The Mardi Gras in May Scholarship Dance will be hosted on May 26th, 2018 at St. Benedict Church, 2245 82nd Ave, from 6pm to 11:30pm.
