As the Oakland’s mayoral races take off, City Councilmember-at-Large Rebecca Kaplan will address the question, “What’s Next Oakland?” at a reception on Thursday, June 7, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., at Geoffrey’s Inner Circle, 410 14th St. in downtown Oakland.

The reception will feature special guests and food.

Among those joining Kaplan will be former Assemblymember Sandré Swanson, who recently wrote an op-ed urging Kaplan to run for mayor.

“During my service to Oakland, City Councilmember-at-Large Rebecca Kaplan has been consistent in her hard work for the prosperity of all Oakland citizens and her vision of Oakland as one of California’s most desirable cities, he wrote.

Rebecca Kaplan has challenged Oakland government to serve all of its citizens, and now it’s time for her to lead the city as mayor,” wrote Swanson.
