About the Oakland Post

Founded in 1963, the Oakland Post is the largest African American weekly newspaper in Northern California.

 

The Oakland Post is one of eight weekly newspapers Serving the San Francisco Bay Area communities of Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond, Marin, South County (Hayward, Fremont, etc)  San Francisco, Vallejo, and Stockton. The Post News group also publishes El Mundo, a spanish language newspaper. Each paper seeks to  provide awareness of issues and current events of concern in Bay Area minority communities.
